Senator Greg Evers', Statement on 11th Circuit Court Ruling Against Federal Health Care Law

Baker, Fla. – Senator Greg Evers (R-Baker) today released the following statement in regards to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals declaring the individual mandate within Obamacare unconstitutional.

“I praise the federal appeals court today for preventing Washington from stepping on our constitutional rights by ruling against the individual mandate contained in Obamacare that would require Floridians and all Americans to purchase health care insurance.

 “We must protect our individual rights and today’s ruling did just that. I believe that we must continue to fight for the full repeal of Obamacare to preserve our country’s fundamental values, and move Washington away from big government and return the power to the states and to the people.

“I know we can explore better solutions to our health care system without taking away from our individual liberties, and I thank the federal appeals court for taking the first steps.”
