Greg Evers is First to Qualify for Ballot Placement in Senate District 2 Race

In a clear indication that Greg Evers has wide support among the people of Senate District 2, Evers today announced he has qualified by petition for ballot placement.  Evers is the first and only candidate in the race to qualify by petition so far.  In a widespread show of support for his candidacy across the entire district, Evers received formal notice from the Supervisors of Elections in Bay, Washington, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton and Escambia Counties that they had successfully verified a combined total of 3,205 petitions and had certified those numbers to the Department of State Division of Elections.  Under Florida law, to qualify for ballot placement for Senate District 2, a candidate must secure the signatures of at least 2,909 voters, representing at least 1% of the total registered voters in the district.
